Jerold immigrated to the United States as a teenager in 1989 from Monrovia, Liberia. When he arrived in America, Jerold played four years at Lowell High School beginning in 1990. After high school, he went on to play at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell where he was a four year starter and captained the Riverhawks. After graduating with a Psychology degree in 1999, Jerold spent one year as an assistant coach for the Riverhawks under Coach Ted Priestly. During this time, he was also playing in the North East Arena Soccer League where he later coached from 2001 to 2003. Jerold has also played soccer with various clubs including Ararat, Lowell Reds and Blues. Among coaching the UMass Lowell Rivierhawks and coaching in the North East Arena Soccer league, Jerold has also worked with several youth and high school teams such as the MISL Attack Soccer Club, Londondery United, Lowell Catholic High School, and Manchester Memorial High school.
In 2008, Jerold earned his masters degree in special education from Cambridge College and has also worked as a teacher and principal. He currently resides in Manchester, NH with his wife and 3 children.
