Jared Barbosa is currently the President of the Nashua Soccer Council. A soccer club with a mission of providing families access to affordable year round professional training and competitive play and with a goal to provide participants with educational and character mentorship, through sportsmanship, community service, and educational support. In 2014 he took over the Nashua High School South varsity program, where he coached the Panthers to two consecutive playoff appearances where they won their first playoff game in over five years. During his time at Nashua South, he assisted multiple student athletes to continue to play soccer at the collegiate level. As a player, Jared played college soccer for Salem State University where he won multiple MASCAC player of the week honors and lead his team to win the conference championship his senior year.
Jared earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Salem State University and later continued his education at Rivier University, where he earned his Master’s degree in School Counseling. He is the Co-Chair of United Way One of Greater Nashua Coalition and was a former Co-Chair of the Mayor of Nashua’s Cultural Connections Committee. Jared currently works as a Guidance Counselor at Fairgrounds Middle School in Nashua, NH and resides in Merrimack, NH where he lives with his wife and two children.
Moving to the Azores at a young age, Nelson developed a love of the beautiful game and started playing when he was 14 years old. Nelson developed his skills on defense as a center back and was quickly promoted to the main team where he was recognized as the best right back of the year. Continuing his growth as a player, Nelson eventually moved into the midfield position where he showed off his knack for offense.
Nelson moved back into the US in 2007 and played on multiple teams and leagues including MSSl, BSSL, and Casa Soccer League of Boston.
Despite keeping busy with his career, continuing his love of the game through Co-Ed soccer once a week, and devoting himself to the International Soccer League mission, Nelson still finds plenty of time for his family. He currently lives with his wonderful wife and 2 children.
